Wall Jewelry!!

10/24/10

Jewelry for your walls!! What a concept......you change it up to fit your moods like you change your necklace to go with a different outfit!  I'm on to something here..I just know it! These new paintings will be showing at Laurie's Boutique in Stanwood, the perfect spot as they go with the cool outfits she has there.  I started with the blue glass and am moving on now to the red......with deeper cradles but still the 8" by 8" size.

The idea to get to the heart of things with my Heart Series came about after hearing many people say they loved my work but just didn't have room for a 15" by 30" painting.  I can understand that as I don't have much wall space in my home either.  So...I thought I'll just cut the heart out of my design and do the fun part for the whole thing!!  And..it worked!! I love these little guys!!

2010 Art Show for Education

10/2/10

It's the 29th Annual Art Show for Education put on by the AAUW of Stanwood-Camano.   It features local 3D and 2D artists and is being held at the Stanwood Camano Fairgrounds on October 16-17, 2010!!!  The proceeds from the show...they take 30% of sales..benefit AAUW Stanwood-Camano scholarships. I will have three abstracts on display and some cards.  Please come and support this worthy cause! Dream Tide will be there!!

Last month it was art being auctioned for the Senior and Community Center ....Enchantment sold for $450 to benefit that cause.  In November we have the Chili Chowder Cook Off and Art Auction to raise money for the Chamber on the Island....a gyotaku fish print is being prepared for that one!

Mid Ocrtober several of my paintings will go back up at Laurie's Boutique in downtowmn Stanwood.  The girls are out there raising money and showing off.  We're hoping for a great Fall as we are hungry to buy another goat for Heifer!
