When using a black background for my Power Women I have to first paint on the white watercolor paper and then cut out the figure before dressing her. The most unusual part of this piece is her skirt which started out years ago as a transfer I did from a photo I took of one of my dahlias. It was the right color and not a good transfer for the whole flower so I cut it up and made a skirt!
